长大参军是铁红（雷敏 饰）从小的梦想，如今，她与沙学丽（梁静 饰）、农村女孩耿菊花（颜红君 饰）、以及军人后代杨继军（孙杨 饰）等一批姑娘应征来到部队，而且是兵中精英女子特警队。理想与现实往往是有距离的，特警队的严酷训练大大出乎了姑娘们的意料，参军前想象中部队的浪漫在魔鬼式训练场上被击的粉碎。通过一段时间高强度的训练，她们身上的娇气渐渐退去，重新焕发的是一种不分性别的英武与坚强，逐渐成长为真正的战士。在几年的从军经历中，她们数次飞临与犯罪分子搏斗的第一线，冲锋陷阵，不惧流血牺牲，杨继军还用自己的胸膛挡住了敌人射来的子弹......
