原本美好幸福的恋情，却因为父辈的荒唐而陷入泥潭。美院教师项果（牛莉 饰）和恋人沈希伦（许亚军 饰）已经到了谈婚论嫁的地步，但是项果的妈妈黄静西（刘莉莉 饰）偶然发现希伦的母亲是曾经和自己丈夫项康顾（张志忠 饰）有染的人。这层关系让黄极力抵制女儿的婚姻，也让本就关系陷入僵局的夫妻俩愈加恶化。在不被双方父母祝福的情况下，这对有情人儿顶着压力走入婚姻殿堂。 婚后的生活并没有如愿走上正轨，父母方面的压力不容忽视，而项果和沈希伦也在连番的鏖战中倍感疲惫。沉迷于希伦忽视了妻子的感受，他们的婚姻开始迎来新的考验……
